— A home office design is qual parts of art and science —

There is a big difference between establishing an office whose external build was made specifically for an office space and a space at home being converted into an office - this is a design for the latter.

BRIEF

This home office caters to the needs of a 42 year old business man, who wanted the color scheme to be darker than the neutral palette with dominance of shades and hues  of browns and shades of grey.

Every little detail within this room of 5M X 8.5M, from lighting, furniture, zoning to tapestry was designed and detailed for the needs of the client.

HOME OFFICE

The positioning of the work station is just as crucial as the appropriate lighting, and the additional touch of natural light in an enclosed office area improves productivity and attention spans.

At the very entrance, near to the large Oakwood door, is an antique textured teak wood table with matching beige tinted rotatable chairs.

The inherent neutral tones used in the paneling, wall-mounted accents, and mobile furniture keep the color schemes cohesive. The colors are held together and given a monochrome pop by a charcoal grey carpet.

VIEWS

The accent wall featuring pine wood shelving enhances the space by introducing texture that reflects light throughout the room.

Complementing this, the embossed wall paneling made from medium-density fiberboard creates a striking 3D effect that pairs beautifully with the ivory-colored high chair. This design choice not only adds visual interest but also contributes to a more spacious and airy atmosphere, making the most of the room's dimensions.

The second half of the office space features a lounging area, designed to accommodate informal meetings as per the client's request. Teak wood wall paneling provides a warm backdrop and serves as a functional element, supporting the TV for presentations. This thoughtful integration creates a versatile environment that fosters collaboration while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.

With ceiling lights and natural light filtering through the fixed glass windows at the end of the room, the artificial lighting remains minimal yet sufficient. The design incorporates a variety of lighting options, including ceiling fixtures, accent lights, pendants, and standing floor lamps, creating a versatile and inviting atmosphere.

Additionally, a cozy seating area adjacent to the glass provides an ideal spot for reading and reflection, enhancing the overall functionality and comfort of the space.
